Netflix esta teniendo un buen año en los Globos de Oro, parece increíble que tan solo necesito seis años para dominar una industria que no confiaba en ella. En menos de una década el gigante del streaming a progresado notablemente en su estrategia comercial.
El servicio de streaming logro 34 nominaciones en 17 categorías para películas y programas de televisión respectivamente. Si bien los Globos de Oro no ostentan el peso de los Oscar, sin duda es muy notable ver la ausencia de ostras grandes cadenas, y ver como Netflix emerge como el principal contendiente en las categorías de televisión y cine, sin duda es asombroso.
Netflix empezó el desarrollo de su contenido original en 2013 con el estreno de las producciones House of Card, Orange is the New Black y Hemlock Grove, las cuales se convirtieron en razón para suscribirse. Series que demostraban que Netflix podría ser algo mas que solo un servicio.
Netflix logro seis nominaciones a los Globos de Oro ese año, y dos años más tarde siete, para aquel entonces era común ver algunas opiniones sobre como esos momentos de gloria para el gigante del streaming no llegarían más lejos, pero el tiempo demostró lo contrario. Superaron las expectativas de la gente sobre lo que Netflix podría ser.
Netflix también es, sin embargo, uno de los que genera mas gastos en Hollywood. El presupuesto de la compañía para contenido haciende hasta los 15.000 millones de dólares este año, mucho mas que gran parte de las demás compañías, aumentado su presupuesto cada año desde 2015.
Como sucede todo el tiempo en la industria no todo es calidad, teniendo producciones muy cuestionadas. Aun así, Netflix ha logrado manejar su estrategia de invertir en producciones que otras compañías no quieren arriesgarse, y El Irlandés de Martin Scorsese es un gran ejemplo.
Marriage Story y El Irlandés son dos películas de la plataforma con mas oportunidades de llevarse un galardón.
Nominados a los Globos de Oro
La entrega de los premios se llevará a cabo el próximo 5 de enero. El Joker y Once Upon a Time in Hollywood también no se quedaron atrás, con varias nominaciones para cada una, incluyendo el de mejor actor para Joaquin Phoenix y su impecable actuación.
